The Trial of Faith

Behold, Satan has desired to have us, that he may sift us as wheat: But the Lord has prayed for us, that our faith does not fail; and when we are converted, we will strengthen our brothers. God judges the righteous: But when we are judged, we are chastened by the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world. The Trial of Faith, being much more precious than that of gold that perishes, even though it is tried with fire, is for honor and glory at the appearance of Jesus Christ.

Now there was a Day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan came also among them. And the Lord said to Satan: Where were you? Then Satan answered: From going to and fro in the Earth. And the Lord said to Satan: Have you considered My servant, a perfect and an upright Man, one that fears God, and stays away from Evil? Then Satan answered: Does he fear God for nothing? Have you made a hedge about him? You have blessed the work of his hands! But put forth your hand now, and touch all that he has, and he will curse you to your face. And the Lord said to Satan: Behold, all that he has is in your power. So, Satan went forth from the presence of the Lord…

Thus, there was given to us a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet us, unless we should be exalted above measure. For this thing, we besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from us. And He said to us: My grace is sufficient for you; for My strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will we rather glory in our infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon us. Therefore, we take pleasure in distresses for Christ's sake: For when we are weak, then we are strong.

For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God; but we are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God has set forth to be a propitiation through faith in His blood, to declare His righteousness for the remission of sins. Our Redeemer is strong; the Lord of hosts is His Name: He shall thoroughly plead our cause.

Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery Trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you: But rejoice, as you are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when His glory shall be revealed, you may be glad also with exceeding joy. For Jesus Christ shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire: He will thoroughly purge His floor and gather His wheat into the garner; but He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire. Every man's work shall be made manifest: Because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walks about, seeking whom he may devour: Resist steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. But the God of all grace, who has called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that you have suffered a while, makes you perfect, establishes, strengthens and settles you.

See how in a great Trial of affliction, the abundance of joy and deep poverty abounded for the riches of liberality; and others had a Trial of cruel mocking and scourging, of bonds and imprisonment.

They gather together, they hide themselves, they mark our steps, when they wait for our souls: In God will we praise His Word. For God has delivered our souls from Death: Will He not deliver our feet from falling, that we may walk before God in the light of the living?

So we glory in our patience and faith in all our persecutions and tribulations that we endure: Which is a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God, that we may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which we also suffer; seeing that it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble us.

If after the manner of men, we have fought with beasts; Jesus Christ, who was crucified through weakness, lives by the Power of God. Thus, as we also are weak in Him, we shall live with Him by the Power of God.

Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith? For we walk by faith, not by sight. Knowing this, that the trying of your faith works patience. Here is the patience of the saints: They that keep the Commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus. Thus, receiving the end of your faith: The salvation of your souls.

By faith in this grace we stand, and we glory in tribulations also: Knowing that tribulation works patience; and patience, experience; and experience, hope; and hope does not make ashamed, because the love of God is shed in our hearts by the Holy Ghost who is given to us.

An inheritance that is incorruptible is reserved in Heaven for us, who are kept by the Power of God through faith for salvation. Greatly rejoice in this, though now for a season, if it is needed, we are in heaviness through many temptations. But let us, who are of the Day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for a helmet, the hope of salvation. Above all, we take the shield of faith, with which we shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

Let us run with patience the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus who is the author and finisher of our faith: Who, for the joy that was set before Him, endured the Cross. Therefore, we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfill all the good pleasure of His goodness, and the work of faith with Power.

Many through faith have subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword: Out of weakness, they were made strong, becoming valiant in fight and turning the armies of the aliens to flee.

When Jacob wrestled a Man until the breaking of the day, he said: I will not let you go, unless you bless me. And the Man said: Your name shall no more be called Jacob, but Israel; for as a prince you have power with God and with men and have prevailed. Thus, Jacob saw God face to face, and his life was preserved. He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches: To him that overcomes, will God give a white stone, and in the stone a new name written. Therefore, if any Man is in Christ, he is a new creature: Old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new!

Therefore, stand fast in one Spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the Gospel: So, faith comes by hearing the Word of God. Nevertheless, God has something against you, because you have left your first love: The Word of God.

Now the Spirit speaks expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, listening to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils: For if “he that comes” preaches another Jesus, or if you receive another Spirit, or another gospel, you might well bear with him… And no marvel: For Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light! All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.

Because some have rejected the Word of the Lord, the Lord has rejected you. Thus, the Spirit of the Lord departed and an evil spirit from the Lord troubled you. There are some that trouble you and would pervert the Gospel of Christ: But though an angel from Heaven, preaches any other gospel to you, let him be accursed. Do you not know that we shall judge angels?

Some, concerning faith, have made shipwreck: Of whom God has delivered to Satan, that they may learn not to blaspheme. Because it is a Trial, and what if the sword condemns even the rod? It shall be no more, says the Lord God. I have set the point of the sword against all their gates, that their heart may faint, and their ruins be multiplied. Thus, says the Lord God: Remove the diadem and take off the crown: This shall not be the same; exalt him that is low and abase him that is high. I will overturn, overturn, overturn: And it shall be no more, until He comes whose right it is; and I will give it to Him.

Shall not the Judge of all the Earth do right? For the Lord shall judge His people, and repent himself for His servants, when He sees that their power is gone, and there is none shut up, or left. Behold, He takes away, who can hinder Him? Who will say to Him: What are you doing? If God will not withdraw His anger, the proud helpers do stoop under Him.

The Lord will also be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble. And they that know His Name will put their trust in Him: For the Lord has not forsaken them that seek Him.

Our God shall come and shall not keep silence: Gather My saints together to Me: Those that have made a Covenant with Me by sacrifice. And the Heavens shall declare His righteousness: God is Judge himself. For we must all appear before the Judgment seat of Christ; that everyone may receive the things done in his body, according to what he has done, whether it is good or bad.

Accordingly, every Man shall say: Verily there is a reward for the righteous, verily He is a God who judges in the Earth. The Lord is our judge, our lawgiver, our King: He will save us. For our Redeemer is mighty; He shall plead our cause. In righteousness, He judges and makes war; and He is clothed with a garment dipped in blood: His name is called The Word of God. Thus, says Jesus Christ: The Word that I have spoken, the same shall judge you in the last day.

Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an Evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water; that Christ might sanctify and cleanse the church with the washing of water by the Word.

For there is one God, and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus: Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time. God is our Savior; whose will is for all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the Truth: Having predestined us for adoption by Jesus Christ, in whom we have redemption through His blood; that is the forgiveness of sins.

How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge our conscience from dead works to serve the living God? And for this cause, He is the mediator of the new Testament, by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first Testament, so that they who are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance. For a Testament is in force after men are dead.

There is therefore now no condemnation toward them who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made us free from the law of sin and Death.

Do not sin; and if any man sins, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: He is the propitiation for our sins; not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. But, he that says, “I know Him” and does not keep His Commandments, is a liar, and the Truth is not in him. But who keeps His Word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: Hereby we know that we are in Him.

Confirm the souls of the disciples, and exhort them to continue in the faith, as we must through much tribulation enter the Kingdom of God. And shall not God avenge his own elect, who cry day and night to him, though He bears for long with them? He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, shall He find faith on the Earth?

For by grace are we saved through faith: It is the gift of God. Not of works, unless any man should boast. But without faith it is impossible to please Him: For he that comes to God must believe that He is, and that He rewards them that diligently seek Him. But as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. Likewise, was not Rahab the harlot justified by works? But he that glories, let him glory in the Lord: For God resists the proud, and gives grace to the humble. Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, and bring into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.

You stand by faith. Do not be high-minded, but fear: For if God did not spare the natural branches, beware unless He also does not spare you. For the scripture has concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.

Therefore, whoever hears the sayings of the Lord, and does them, He will liken him to a wise man, who built his house upon a rock. And the rain descends, and the floods come, and the winds blow, and beat upon that house; and it does not fall: For it was founded upon a rock.

Do not be slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises: If you continue in the faith, grounded and settled, and are not moved away from the hope of the Gospel. Therefore, take the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the Evil day, and having done all, to stand: Your feet being shod with the preparation of the Gospel of peace.

And God, who knows the hearts, bears witness, by giving the Holy Ghost: That faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the Power of God, to grant us to be strengthened with might by His Spirit in the inner Man. Thus, Christ may dwell in our hearts by faith: And He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the Power that works in us. Because we have kept the Word of God, He will also keep us from the Hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the Earth.

At midnight, there will be a cry: Behold, the bridegroom comes; go out to meet Him! The wise virgins take oil in their vessels with their lamps. And the foolish will say to the wise: Our lamps are gone out! But, while they will go to buy oil, the bridegroom will come.

And we will hear a loud voice saying in Heaven: Now is come salvation, and strength, the Kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ; for the Accuser of our brethren is cast down, who accused them before our God day and night. And the righteous overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they did not love their lives unto Death.

Then, we will see the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books being opened: And another Book will be opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead will be judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

As it is written, the just shall live by faith; that they may receive the forgiveness of sins, and an inheritance among them who are sanctified by faith in Christ Jesus, the Word of God. Thus, says Jesus Christ: As I hear, I judge: And My Judgment is just; to him that overcomes, I will say “Where are your accusers? Has no Man condemned you?”

Therefore, fight the good fight of faith and lay hold on eternal Life. For whatever is born of God overcomes the world, and this is the victory that overcomes the world: Our faith. When we fight a good fight until we have finished our course, we will have kept the faith: Hence, there will be laid up for us a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, shall give us on that Day!
