‘And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off’ – יִכָּרֵ֥ת (to destroy, consume, to covenant) – ‘but not for himself’ - (Daniel 9:26): ‘He shall redeem’ - יִגְאַ֣ל (To redeem, act as kinsman) ‘their soul from deceit and violence: And He shall live!’
Thus, Messiah will be killed, ‘but not for himself’, in order to ‘redeem’ the ‘soul’ of His people with His blood, after which ‘He shall live’ (יְחַיֵּ֖נוּ chayah: revive, live) for, when He was restored to life - אֵ֣ת אֲשֶׁר־ הֶחֱיָ֣ה אֶת־ הַמֵּת֒ - through resurrection life on the third day, He will revive us and raise us up: ‘After two days will He revive us’ – יְחַיֵּ֖נוּ (chayah: to revive, to live): ‘In the third day, He will raise us up, and we shall live in His sight.’ Thus, when Messiah resurrects from the dead on the third day, His followers receive Redemption, that is the Resurrection Life of God, through the Messiah: ‘I will ransom them from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from Death: O Death, I will be your plagues; O grave, I will be your destruction.’ – Hosea 13:14.
‘Flesh with its life - אַךְ־ בָּשָׂ֕ר בְּנַפְשׁ֥וֹ דָמ֖וֹ לֹ֥א - נָ֫פֶשׁ (nephesh: life, soul) [which is] the blood.’ Thus, a ‘nephesh’ is the soul of a living thing, but the living soul of a human being receives life in the spirit (resurrection life) through the atonement for sin that is only possible through the blood of a perfect lamb. It is only then that the spirit of life (Holy Spirit) is received - רוּחַ rûach (spirit). ‘In His hand is the life (nephesh) of every living thing and the spirit – רוּחַ ruach (wind, spirit) - of every human being.’ The term ‘chayyah’ alone is often translated living thing or animal, but the Hebrew term ‘nephesh chayyah’ is often translated "living soul", that implies the spirit of life (Holy Spirit) inside a human being. ‘Daniel came in before me, in whom is the spirit of the holy’ - אֱלָהִ֔י וְדִ֛י רֽוּחַ־ אֱלָהִ֥ין קַדִּישִׁ֖ין
‘For the life’ – נֶ֣פֶשׁ (A soul, living being) ‘of the flesh is in the blood: and I’ – וַאֲנִ֞י – ‘have given it’ – נְתַתִּ֤יו – ‘to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that makes an atonement’יְכַפֵּֽר ׃ (To cover, to expiate) ‘for the soul.’ – Leviticus 17:11. Thus, the Messiah has given us His life that is in His blood to make an atonement for our souls as only His perfect blood can cover our sins and revive us.
‘And you shall know that I am the Lord, when I have opened your graves, O my people, and brought you up out of your graves. And shall put My spirit in you and you shall live.’ – Ezekiel 37:14. Thus, when His people are redeemed, they receive the Spirit of Life, the Holy Spirit inside them.
‘Thus says the Lord GOD to these bones: Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and you shall live! Behold, O My people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out. And you shall know that I am the LORD: And I shall put my spirit’ - רוּחִ֤י (breath, life) ‘in you’ – בָכֶם֙ – ‘and you shall live!’ – חְיִיתֶ֔ם (to revive)
Thus ‘spoke Elisha to the woman, whose son he had restored to life, saying: Arise!’ - הָאִשָּׁה֩ אֲשֶׁר־ הֶחֱיָ֨ה אֶת־ בְּנָ֜הּ - ‘And it came to pass, as he was telling the king how he had restored a dead body to life, that, behold the woman whose son he had restored to life!’
‘None can keep alive his own soul’ וְ֝נַפְשׁ֗וֹ לֹ֣א חִיָּֽה׃ - ‘You, who have showed me great and sore troubles, shall quicken me again’ – [תְּחַיֵּינוּ כ] (תְּחַיֵּ֑ינִי ק) וּֽמִתְּהֹמ֥וֹת - ‘From the grave: You have kept me alive, that I should not go down’ - חִ֝יִּיתַ֗נִי
‘Will you not revive us again: That your people may rejoice in you?’ – תָּה תָּשׁ֣וּב תְּחַיֵּ֑נוּ וְ֝עַמְּךָ֗ יִשְׂמְחוּ־ – ‘Show us your mercy, O LORD, and grant us your Salvation.’ - יְשׁוּעָה – (Salvation: Yeshuah) - ‘Let your hand be upon the Man of your right hand, upon the Son of Man whom you made strong for yourself. So, we will not go back from you: Quicken us, and we will call upon your Name.’
‘Thus, says the High and lofty One that inhabits Eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.’
‘And when I passed by you, and saw you polluted in your own blood, I said to you when you were in your blood, Live!’ -
"Behold, days are coming," declares the LORD, "when I will make a New Covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah, not like the covenant which I made with their fathers in the day I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, My covenant which they broke" declares the LORD. "But this is the Covenant which I will make with the house of Israel after those days," declares the LORD, "I will put My law within them and on their heart I will write it; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.’
‘Cast away from you all your transgressions, whereby you have transgressed; and make yourself a new heart and a new spirit: for why will you die, O house of Israel? For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dies, says the Lord GOD: Therefore, turn yourselves, and live!’ – יְהוִ֑ה וְהָשִׁ֖יבוּ וִֽחְיֽוּ׃ פ - ‘Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and you shall live!’ - בָכֶ֛ם ר֖וּחַ וִחְיִיתֶֽם - ‘And I shall put my spirit in you, and you shall live!’
‘For thus says the LORD to the house of Israel: Seek Me and you shall live.’ ‘Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: But the just shall live – יִחְיֶֽה׃ - by his faith!’ – Habakkuk 2:4
