Gay Christianity: The “New Normal”

Gay Christianity is a trending topic and the “new normal.” Trending words express the “new normal” and new terms are constantly being added to the dictionary.

The trending term in 2020 is “Coronavirus” while in 2000 it was “gender-reveal party” – a term that was coined due to medical advances that allowed expectant mothers to know and reveal the sex of their baby during pregnancy. Since 2000, the main Christian denominations ordained gay priests and pastors and the term “Gay Christianity” started trending and becoming the “new normal.”

A “new normal” is a state that was not accepted as being normal before, but that has, in a determined period of time, become generally accepted as being normal by society. Social revolutions are catalysts for sudden changes in the nature of society and these change what is perceived as being “normal.”

Social revolutions also affect Christianity and how Christians distance themselves from “fundamental” concepts in the Bible, calling Bible believers “fundamentalists” and trying to transform a religion that has withstood centuries into the “new normal” of the 21st century. This new Christianity adapts teachings about the Bible to society’s perception of what is “normal” instead of adapting society to the fundamental teachings of the Bible.

The Bible says: “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Do not be carried about with various and strange doctrines.”Hebrews 13:8. “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.” – 2 Timothy 3:16. “For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, there a little.” – Isaiah 28:10

“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the Truth.” – 2 Timothy 4:3.

Therefore, in order to discern between the lie and the Truth of God, between the “new normal” and what is “normal” yesterday, today and forever: It is wiser to be like the Bereans, for they “searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so.” – Acts 17:11.

“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.” – Matthew 7:15. “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of Heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in Heaven. – Matthew 7:21.

“The wrath of God is revealed from Heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteous of men, who suppress the Truth in unrighteousness - Romans 1:18 - For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was dueRomans 1:26 - who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them – Romans 1:32 - If a man lies with a male as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination. They shall surely be put to death. Their blood shall be upon themLeviticus 1:13 - Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? – 1 Corinthians 6:9.

Do not be deceived: Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. – 1 Corinthians 6: 9-10 - But outside are dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie.” – Revelation 22:15
