Freedom - Free Spirit

Come, let us see whether we have a free will within us, for we believe we do. We do admit that we have a very free will to live to please ourselves but very little free will to sacrifice for the overall good. When we seek to please our flesh, we are slaves to sin: for what we would like to do, we sometimes do not; but what we would not like to do, we sometimes do. Then, to will is present with us but our will is taken into captivity and the free will we have is the will to follow the enemy of our soul and is at war against God’s will. Our will is taken captive but as we cannot see our bonds, we feel free and we do not resist. If we do not have power over our will to respond to evil by doing good, then who has power over our will?

When our will is done, then whose will is this? And if we tune in to this higher power to listen to his wisdom, then do we really know which way he will lead us? Perhaps we trust in a higher power because it is greater than ours and because he promises that if we follow him, we will evolve to be as powerful as him. But an earthly mind cannot discern Truth in matters of a spiritual nature. When we believe promises that we will ascend spiritually and evolve to have greater power over our own life, who is to tell us that we will not be descending and forsaking the little power that we still have?

Are we seeking to discern between truth and lies, or are we seeking power wherever it lies? Then, we are not doing our will but the will of our spiritual master for ignorance is indeed full of bliss; but if we feel the slightest seed of doubt, we may wonder if we are sure that we are told the Truth and if this is really the way to eternal life. For while we live, our will and our life are taken captive by the words in which we believe.

Should a wise man utter vain knowledge, and fill his belly with the east wind? For in much wisdom is much grief: and he that increases knowledge increases sorrow, for there is no work, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, where he goes. For he is free among the dead, like the slain that lie in the grave.

Then will we understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and the knowledge of the holy is understanding. Thus, the lips of knowledge are a precious jewel. So shall the knowledge of wisdom be to our soul: when we have found it, then there shall be a reward and our expectation shall not be cut off.

Wisdom and knowledge shall be the strength of salvation: that frustrates the liars and makes diviners mad, that turns wise men backward and makes their knowledge foolish. For many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased, ever learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the Truth. For this is Truth: Our wisdom and our knowledge have perverted us, and we have said in our heart, I am, and none else besides me - but people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. And even as we did not like to retain God in our knowledge, God gave us over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient and that lead to death.

When our will is done, then whose will is this? And if we turn to this higher power to listen to his wisdom, then we should rather be casting down imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, for God’s will is for all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the Truth. Then will we turn from the power of Satan to the power of God, by bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ, that we might be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding. For if we remain in the Word of God, then will we know the Truth and the Truth will set us free from the bondage of our will, because we will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. Then will we cease from believing lies which make us submit to a higher power that is none other than the power of death.

Spiritual awakening leads to righteousness and we forsake sin, but some do not have the knowledge of God: knowledge of salvation by the remission of sins. For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, has shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God through Jesus Christ who conquered death once and for all.

With discernment in matters of a spiritual nature, we will know the nature of Truth, for Jesus Christ is the Way and the Truth that lead to eternal Life. Then will we say in our heart: Father, thy will be done. When the Holy Spirit comes, then will life be breathed into our spirits; when our bodies are laid to rest, then will they be resurrected on Judgment Day. For in that Day, will our Creator say: “O ye dry bones, hear the word of the Lord: Then will there be a noise, and behold a shaking, and the bones will come together, each bone to his bone. And when we will behold, lo, the sinews and the flesh will come upon them, and the skin will cover them above: the breath will come into them, and they will live.”

If the Son of God, Jesus Christ, therefore shall make us free, we shall be free indeed, so we may not be entangled again with the yoke of bondage that leads to death.

But if you do not yet believe in the Word of God, there is the light of hope that you may become a free spirit, should you cry out to God to show you what is the Truth.
